The College of Physical Education was founded in 2003. There are 3 undergraduate majors in physical education, social sports guidance and management, performance (sports performance direction), and 1 junior college major in sports service and management. Undergraduate majors enjoy the right to confer bachelor degrees. The college currently has 59 faculty members, including 33 full-time teachers, 15 teachers with the titles of professors and associate professors, 70% of teachers with a master's degree or above, one provincial-level young and middle-aged subject leader, and two key teachers. The college has teaching and research institutions such as the teaching and research section of physical education, the university physical teaching and research section, the sports research institute, the sports experiment center, and the student physical fitness test center. It also undertakes the teaching and management of school sports and public physical education.
The college adheres to the education-oriented, teaching-centered, based on the cultivation of applied and innovative talents that meet the needs of social and economic development. After more than 10 years of hard work, the college has formed a school-running advantage with undergraduate physical education as the main body, and professional directions such as golf sports technology and management, taekwondo, and sports performance.
The college has complete teaching facilities. A standard track and field field with 20,000 seats, a large multi-functional gymnasium and a golf driving range and club house covering an area of more than 30 acres; a new indoor simulated golf practice hall; more than 30 outdoor baskets, volleyball, nets, badminton courts and indoor Constant temperature swimming pool; the total area of the college's sports venues reaches 170,000 square meters. The college has laboratories for sports anatomy, sports physiology, sports health and rehabilitation, and physical fitness testing centers. The total fixed assets of experimental teaching are more than 2.6 million yuan.
The college sports competition has achieved outstanding results. Jin Chongzhi, Chen Weiming, etc. represented the Chinese team in the Asian Indoor Games in Bangkok, Thailand, and won the third place in the men's group of sepak takraw. The Taekwondo team has won many gold medals in the National University Championships. Our college’s men’s, women’s and men’s football teams have repeatedly won the first place in the undergraduate group of the provincial college games; track and field, taekwondo and martial arts have won the first place in the total score of the college students in the provincial games or the provincial college games. And the second place; in the 14th Jiangxi Provincial Games in 2014, our Taekwondo team won 12 gold medals, 10 silver medals, 6 bronze medals, the first group total score, and the third group total score, which created a miracle of competitive sports in colleges and universities in our province. The track and field team won 4 gold medals, one silver medal, two bronze medals, and 6th overall team score; Wushu Sanda won 2 gold medals and 1 bronze medal; won 16 golds, 4 silvers and 4 bronzes at the 15th Jiangxi Provincial Games in 2018 Among the outstanding achievements, Taekwondo won 16 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes; the total number of gold medals and total group scores of our college ranked first among similar institutions in the province.
The employment status of graduates is good. The employment rate of graduates is more than 90%. Graduates of social sports, sports performance, and golf are widely distributed in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Jinan, Dongguan, Sanya, Qingdao and other earth clubs or clubs, who are well received by employers. At present, the 2018 graduates have been fully booked by major university-enterprise cooperation units.
