College of Finance and Economics, formerly the Department of Economic Management founded in 2000, is one of the oldest departments of Nanchang Institute of Technology. It mainly cultivates high-quality practical economic management talents with basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills necessary for economics and management, and full of innovative spirit and practical abilities.
The majors of the college are oriented by social demand, based on local economic construction, market demand and employment demand, covering two disciplines of economics and management. The majors for undergraduate include accounting, financial engineering and financial management; the majors for junior college students (three-year program) include accounting, investment and financial management, and financial management.
The faculty pool is composed of 160 full-time and part-time teachers with teaching, practical and scientific research abilities, more than 50 of them are with senior titles, and more than 80% are equipped with doctoral or master’s degree.
In the well-equipped experimental training center, which includes VBSE financial comprehensive practice teaching lab ERP sand table simulation lab, financial management lab, tax declaration lab, basic accounting simulation lab, accounting manual lab, accounting computerization lab, financial engineering lab, commercial bank and other experimental training rooms and advanced multimedia teaching equipment, students have their practical application ability cultivated through strengthening the construction of software and hardware equipment and adopting advanced practical teaching methods.
The college attaches great importance to the construction of campus culture. Through the Youth League Committee, student union, professional association and other community organizations, students may enjoy their campus life and simultaneously their scientific spirit and humanistic quality are developed.
For the employment of graduates, a two-way selection employment system is implemented, which is recommended by schools and colleges and assessed by employers. Their qualities of being diligent, practical, and innovative have been praised by many employers thus won a good social reputation.
