The College of Finance and Economics is one of the earliest departments established by Nanchang Institute of Technology. Its predecessor was the Department of Economics and Management. It was founded in 2000 and was the first undergraduate teaching unit. The professional setting of the college is guided by social needs, based on local economic construction, market demand and employment needs, covering two majors of economics and management. The existing undergraduate majors include Accounting, Financial Technology, Financial Engineering, and Financial Management; Majors for Junior College include Accounting, Financial Management, Investment and Financial Management; The college mainly cultivates high-quality talents with applied economic management who can understand basic theories, basic knowledge, basic skills, innovative spirit and practical ability which is necessary for economics and management.
In the teaching team of the College of Finance and Economics, there are more than 160 high-quality, double-qualified teachers including different age levels ( old, middle-aged and young). The team is composed of full-time professors, associate professors, doctors, masters, and lecturers; among them, there are more than 50 teachers with senior professional titles, more than 80% of them owning doctoral or master degrees. Most teachers not only have solid professional theoretical knowledge and teaching abilities, but also have strong practical and scientific research abilities.
The college has a well-equipped experimental training center, including VBSE Financial Comprehensive Practice Teaching Laboratory, Financial Engineering Laboratory, Basic Accounting Simulation Laboratory, Accounting Manual Laboratory, Tax Declaration Laboratory, Accounting Information Laboratory, ERP Sand Table Simulation Laboratory, Financial Management Laboratory, Commercial Bank Simulation Laboratory and many other experimental training rooms and advanced multimedia teaching equipment; The college adopts advanced practical teaching methods to cultivate students' practical application ability by strengthening the construction of software and hardware.
