Historical Evolution: The College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is one of the earliest colleges established in Nanchang Institute of Technology. The College of Mechatronics Engineering was established in 1999 with the birth of Jiangxi Aerospace Science and Technology Institute, the predecessor of Nanchang Institute of Technology. Discipline: Existing four full-time national undergraduate majors in mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, intelligent manufacturing engineering, industrial design and automotive service engineering with the right to confer bachelor's degree; also have mold design and manufacturing, numerical control technology, electro-mechanical Integrated technology, maintenance and management of electro-mechanical equipment, automobile manufacturing and assembly technology, urban rail transit, and automobile intelligent technology are seven nationally recruited specialties. Among them, the undergraduate major of mechanical manufacturing design and automation has been approved as a special major construction point of Jiangxi Provincial Colleges and Universities, and it is also a major of Jiangxi Provincial Excellent Engineer Training. The automotive service engineering major was approved as a college-level specialty major in 2017. The college attaches great importance to curriculum construction. There are two provincial-level quality courses (mechanical drawing, electrical and electronic technology), and six college-level quality courses (numerical control technology and application, machine tool numerical control technology, robotics, programmable controller principle, hydraulics) with pneumatic and plastic molding and mold design).
Experimental practice: The electro-mechanical experimental training center in the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was established at the beginning of the Nanchang Institute of Technology. The electro-mechanical experiment and training center has three bases, namely the electro-mechanical basic experiment base, the advanced manufacturing training base, and the automobile service technology training base.
