    The research and development of the mobile solar power module energy-saving desk lamp and the solar intelligent three-dimensional laser fast input device that he presided were awarded four national patents. The research and development of the “HT9801-AACV Multimedia Language Learning System” that he presided over won the second prize of Jiangxi Science and Technology Progress Achievement Award.

    In recent years, President QIU Xiaolin has presided over and participated in more than 10 projects above the provincial level, and published more than 20 academic papers in academic journals. He participated in the compilation of more than 10 textbooks and monographs, and won 2 third prizes for scientific and technological achievements of provincial colleges and universities. In particular, the popular science reading "Chang’e Surveying the Sky to See China" created with Engineer Zhang Chuanjun has been loved by readers and produced good results, which has brought good social and indirect economic benefits.

    In 1980, he was a technician of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force Maintenance Training Team. In 1987, he founded Nanchang Aerospace Science and Technology Group. In May 1999, he founded Jiangxi Aerospace Science and Technology College, which was approved to be established as Jiangxi Aerospace Science and Technology Vocational College in 2001. The college was approved to upgrade to an undergraduate university by National Ministry of Education in 2005 and at the same time changed its name to Nanchang Institute of Technology.

    In March 2003, QIU Xiaolin participated in the first meeting of the 10th CPPCC National Committee as a special guest with outstanding contributions to education.

    In October 2003, QIU Xiaolin went to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center as a special representative to observe the successful launch of the "Shen 5". Since 2004, QIU Xiaolin has represented Jiangxi Province at the National Educational Research Achievement Exhibition for four consecutive times, and has been received and praised by Minister Zhou Ji of the Ministry of Education.

    In May 2006, QIU Xiaolin was awarded the National May 1st Labor Medal by National Federation of Trade Unions.

    In June 2008, QIU Xiaolin was hired as a master tutor in Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

    In December 2008, QIU Xiaolin was awarded the title of the provincial advanced individual in national defense education.

    In April 2010, Chairman Qiu Xiaolin was awarded the honorary title of National Advanced Worker by the State Council.

    Since November 2013, he has served as the president of Nanchang Institute of Technology.

    Since August 2017, he has served as the chairman of Nanchang Institute of Technology.
