He has hosted and participated in numerous projects of different varieties. He serves as a member of Military Systems Engineering Specialized Committee of Systems Engineering Society of China; executive director of Military Operations Research Society of PLA, expert in the Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Achievements of Jiangxi Province, and committee member in evaluating senior titles for Teaching Series of the former Nanjing Military Region.
Professor Du has won one third prize of national Education Sciences Achievements Award, two second prizes, three third prizes of Military Science and Technology Progress, and one second prize of military Teaching Achievement. He also has two patents applied, one monograph published, and more than 60 academic papers published in SCI and EI journals at home and abroad.
He has also won the gold and silver awards of the Military Academy Education Award, the second and third categories of post allowance for outstanding military professionals, and other many honorable titles.

He is an expert enjoying special allowance of the State Council, member of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, judge of Jiangxi Professional and Technical Qualification Committee, and of Jiangxi Science and Technology Evaluation Committee. He has edited more than ten national textbooks and three academic monographs and published more than fifty academic papers, applied for six invention patents, hosted one project for the national “11th Five-Year” plan, and five projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation.
